Controlled Impedance Flat Ribbon IDC
UL Style 2651 · VW-1
Description: Each conductor is 28 AWG, 7 strand of 36 AWG T.C. with .010" nominal wall of extruded PVC insulation overall. Conductors are to provide .050" +/- .002", center to center conductor spacing allowing for nominal impedance of 105 Ohms (measured ground-signal-ground).
Cables are listed under UL style 2651 and meet UL VW-1 flame test.
Conductors separate cleanly and one has a red stripe for polarity.
Because of controlled center to center spacing, cables may be mass terminated with insulation displacement connectors designed for .050" spacing of conductors.
Crosstalk is also controllable.
