How To Create Inexpensive End Caps
You may create inexpensive end caps yourself, by using our lower temperature
heat shrinkable tubing--
- SH265- Heat shrinkable PVC
- SH267- Heavy wall Heat shrinkable PVC
- SH275- Heat shrinkable Irradiated Polyolefin
- SH321- Heat shrinkable Irradiated Polyolefin
3 to 1
- SH277- Heat shrinkable Irradiated Polyolefin
4 to 1
- Determine the tubing to be used from the above list.
- Select the size tubing you want to use.
- Cut the tubing so that it will provide about 3/8" to 1/2" of 'overhang'
from the end of the object you are covering.
- Slip the cut length over your object, maintaining the 3/8" to 1/2" 'overhang'.
- Apply heat.
- While sill hot pinch the 'overhang' with a pair of pliers and hold
for 30-60 seconds, while the tubing is cooling.
- When cooled, the resulting end cap will maintain its seal unless and
until the shrink temperature is again achieved.
